Davinder Singh AREINZ
Company Director

Davinder has worked in Hamilton's real estate market for over 25 years.  He has a background in farming and finance, followed by eight years as a restaurant owner.  In 1984 Davinder joined Brunton Patton Real Estate and for the first two years, he worked in the area of business and motel sales before switching to residential property sales.  Over the next three years, he completed his real estate examinations and also became sales manager of the residential sales team.  Davinder then moved to Harcourts in June 1989 when he was offered a branch manager's position.
This was also the year that Harcourts Group decided to accelerate the company's growth through franchising its branches nationwide; and the Hamilton offices were soon to become available.  By late 1990 Davinder reached an agreement with Harcourts for the purchase and franchise of the five Hamilton offices, initially as a partner but then on to sole ownership.  Over the next few years, Harcourts Hamilton became not only the major player in the local real estate market, but was also recognised as one of Harcourts most successful franchises.  Since 1991 the company has won more awards for office and individual sales performances than any other Harcourts franchise.
In 2004, Davinder decided to sell a 50% share of the company to his good friend and "right hand man" Brian King, who now oversees the day to day operations of the company.  In 2005 Davinder became the 7th person to be inducted into the prestigious Harcourts Hall of Fame, which recognises individuals' long standing and significant contribution to the Harcourts Group.
After 20 years with Harcourts, Davinder continues to play a significant role within the Hamilton franchise.  He feels privileged to have worked with so many talented people over the years, all of whom have contributed to the ongoing success of the company.

Brian King
General Manager
Brian has been a Hamiltonian since 1979. Arriving from Auckland, he along with two business partners established the very successful Gainsborough House Restaurant. In 1990 after 16 years in hospitality, Brian made a career change, joining a real estate company that specialised in the sale of hotels and motels. Then in 1991 he started with Harcourts in Hamilton both as a sales consultant and sales manager of the Central City Office residential team. The next six years saw Brian become a very successful sales consultant. He received numerous awards including Harcourts Top National Sales Consultant for three consecutive years, and also the Real Estate Institute Top Sales Consultant for this region, again for three consecutive years. Also during this time Brian became a very competent auctioneer. In 1997 Brian moved on from selling to take up a role, as manager of the company’s residential division, which at the time operated from six local offices. He also took over the role as head auctioneer and led a very successful auction team. Brian is very passionate about the auction sales system and he continues to call the majority of the company’s auctions. In 2004 Brian accepted an opportunity to buy a 50% shareholding in the local franchise company and take up the position of General Manager. He now oversees all of the company’s divisions, from residential, rural and lifestyle sales, to business and commercial sales and leasing. In 2009, in recognition of his contribution to the Harcourts Brand, Brian was inducted into the Harcourts Hall of Fame. Commenting on his induction Brian says he is both proud and humbled to have joined this esteemed group. Back at work Brian thrives on the daily challenges that this competitive industry brings. He is very proud of the company’s history and confident in its future success.

Rex Hadley
Commercial Manager
Rex has been involved in real estate for the past 40 years, the last 20 specializing in Commercial and Industrial real estate. Rex specializes in "design and build" projects, and large industrial leases. One of his current projects is the leasing of 14000 sq metres of retail space in Te Rapa, Hamilton on a 3 hectare site he sold to the present developers. Rex is a fellow of the Real Estate Institute, and is a past National President of that organisation.

Val Ruske
Manager
Val Ruske began her real estate career in Hamilton in 1987. In 1996 she completed her AREINZ studies and in 2009 was awarded a Fellowship of the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand. During her time in real estate Val has had Management and Training roles as well as having had a successful sales career. In 1999 she opened her own office in Mount Maunganui that eventually grew to 3 offices specialising in residential sales. In 2009 Val returned to Hamilton. Val has a strong focus on real estate education having been an adjunct tutor and a Work Based Assessor for The Open Polytechnic of New Zealand. She has also been involved in the Waikato/Bay of Plenty/Gisborne region of the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand. Besides her passion for real estate, Val spends time with her 4 grandchildren and is a fond gardener.

Rex Sim
Rural Manager
Rex has been in real estate for 29 years and has a wealth of experience not only as a sales consultant and manager but also as an owner of a real estate company. Rex was admitted as an associate to the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand, AREINZ, in 1981 and is also an accredited auctioneer as recognised by the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand (REINZ). He has conducted many auctions during his real estate career and is presently employed by Monarch Real Estate Ltd MREINZ - A member of the Harcourts Group as Rural Manager and is one of three auctioneers employed by the Company.

Allan Archer
Accountant
Although Allan's hometown is Tokoroa, most of his education was completed in Mt Maunganui when the family relocated there. He then moved to Hamilton and worked in accounting offices gaining invaluable experience for the commercial world, while continuing his studies at the Waikato Polytechnic. He then became branch accountant for Fletcher Merchants Ltd before moving on to be an area accountant. Allan was then approached by NZ Aluminium Franchising to be the management accountant. In 1990 he joined Harcourts as their in-house accountant. In his spare time he was involved in Archery, becoming President of the local club and was a level 3 coach. In 1998 he shot in the World Field Archery competition winning a bronze medal in the barebow division.

Mark Keesom

Lance Fletcher

Lance is in his fifties. Having been in real estate for about 7 years, he is always near the top in the Harcourts Rural Team, Hamilton. His background is from farming stock, his father farming on a ballot farm at Rerewhakaitu on his return from WWII. On leaving school, he started work for a livestock company as a stock agent and an Auctioneer, and remained in that vocation until his recent change. His passion for auctioneering has given him opportunities to be involved in several community funded raising events such as Cancer Foundations, rugby, art organisations, and of course, properties in and around the Waikato area. His other interests involved rugby, having coached many teams including the Waikato Under 18's for a period of 11 years. He is currently Club Captain of the Harlequins Rugby Club which he finds very rewarding. In the past, he has also trained and driven harness race horses, currently being the owner of two. Since joining Harcourts, David has had success selling land to developers, dairy farms and dry stock farms with the latter, running Auction or Tender programmes. Successful sales through these programmes included 289 ha at Te Akau at 2,050,000, 72 ha at Rotokauri at 6,200,000, 20 ha at Waingaro at 770,000, 102 ha at Cogswell Road at 662,000. Other land sold at Auction or Tender included 4.7 ha at Te Kowhai at $920,000, 15 ha at Ngaruawahia at $815,000, another 15 ha at Ngaruawahia at 1,085,000, 15 ha at Te Kowhai at 1,085,000. David has also had successful marketing programmes for numerous lifestyle properties since 2006. Although values have decreased, David still sees a lot of positives for the farming sector which trickles down to the lifestyle market. For a period, David was No. 1 for Harcourts in all divisions of the Hamilton offices.
